2/3 Design of the first product.

Not just a designer. Next to being a UX Researcher and designer I love entrepreneurship. For 5 years I have worked for big corporates in propositon development (the start of creating new businesses/products). Therefore I know when to pull back on design optimalisaion and opt for speed. How to interpret initial customer data. And how to launch a MVP.

Summary. First the most important use scenarios/flows were identified and designed through sketching. To keep feedback loops short and make sure the logic is in place for all flows. After having a solid logic for the application the design was detailed in Figma. Focus was on speed creating a first minimal viable product (MVP).

In collaboration with the developer the product was set live. Extra time was spent on testing on different devices and making sure all the flows worked and looked visually pleasing.

Deliverables.

  • Main logic and interface of the application (two versions: premium and 'zelf aan de slag').
  • Design screens for 3 use scenarios: at the start of usage, during and completion.
  • Design of intake flow and logic.
  • Design of exercise flow and logic.
  • Handover developer, test and debug (focus on desktop)

3/3 Launching and testing with the first users.

Summary. The first product was launched and I was in charge of product management and user contact. To be able to launch as quickly as possible, the email flow and user progress was tracked manually. I kept the data of this first experiment in an easy excel.

Deliverables.

  • Visual design for Google Paid advertising.
  • Email contact to guide and nudge users.
  • Gathering qualitative feedback from users.
  • Excel with user data: progress tracked, contact logged, feedback gathered.
  • Conclusion and advice from user and product point of view (2 months paid advertising).
